New PvP shooter for PS5 received mockery and criticism after the presentation, now wants to convince you with a beta

The new PvP shooter from Sony starts its beta on the PS5 tomorrow. Whether it can convince after the game already faced a lot of criticism beforehand remains to be seen.

What game are we talking about? Concord is the latest PvP shooter from Sony, aiming to impress you with 5v5 battles. During the State of Play, Sony showcased the first gameplay of the shooter, which led to some ridicule, especially regarding the character designs.

In Concord, you have several characters with unique abilities. Battles are fought in teams of 5 against another team and played from a first-person perspective.

When does the beta start? In an official post on the Playstation Blog, information about the start of the beta version has now been released.

According to official statements, the early access beta is scheduled to run from tomorrow, July 12th, to July 14th, 2024. The open beta is then expected to run from July 18th to July 21st, 2024. PS5 players can pre-download the beta version starting today, July 11th, 2024, at 7:00 PM. Anyone with an active PS Plus subscription has access to the open beta.

You can bring your friends into the beta with you

If you have already pre-ordered Concord, you automatically receive access to the beta early access version. Additionally, you will receive four extra codes to share with your friends to test the beta together. However, your friends must play on the same platform as you.

What the early access and open beta promise you:

• You can already test all 16 characters available at launch in the beta.
• You can try out the role of a ranged fighter, DPS, or as support for your teammates.
• The three game modes Conflict, Trophy Hunt, and Cargo Mission will be available. You can expect strategic challenges and fast rounds where you need to hunt for trophies.
• During the beta, you can explore the four maps Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard, and Shock Hazard.
• You have the opportunity to experience the first episode of the game and learn more about the story and crew.
