A new MMORPG from Germany, Inferna, will soon be available on Steam. It is being developed by an indie studio and focuses on PvE.

Update December 5: MeinMMO was informed by the developers that they cannot meet the release date for Inferna due to difficulties with the Steam review.
The release is expected to be delayed by 1-2 weeks. However, in the best case, new content will be added to the game in the meantime, which will already be online for the new Steam release.
What kind of MMORPG is this? Inferna is a fantasy MMORPG set in the world of Pangäus, threatened by creatures from Hell. The focus is on PvE, although there will also be PvP.
Inferna offers you:
- Two playable factions: Caratas and Jerro
- Four playable races
- The four classes Wizard, Warrior, Assassin, and Half-Demon
- Mounts and pets
- Guilds and guild PvP
- Various dungeons
The MMORPG is set to be Free2Play and you should be able to earn all items in-game.
Another feature is supposed to be crossplay between PC and smartphone, similar to Albion Online. Although the new MMORPG will initially only be available for PC, versions for mobile devices and even consoles are already in planning.
How far along is Inferna in development? The new MMORPG has been in development for 3 years. In the version that will soon go live on Steam, there is already content up to level 60, according to the developers. This includes:
- Various maps
- A story influenced by your decisions
- Many quests and dungeons
- An item and upgrade system
- Systems for groups and friends lists
- Diverse Easter eggs
When will Inferna be released? On December 6 at 6:00 PM, Inferna will start Early Access on Steam. According to the FAQ, the early access serves primarily to test the game systems and gather feedback from players.
In Early Access, performance improvements as well as the guild and crafting systems will be introduced. Both are currently missing in the MMORPG’s version.
Will the MMORPG be released in German? Upon inquiry, we were informed that Inferna will be released in German and English. Localizations for Polish and Turkish are also planned.
What are the first reactions? Although Inferna is not yet playable, the trailers have already elicited first reactions:
- Many viewers are looking forward to the game. A fair Free2Play MMORPG from the West seems to excite many.
- The MMORPG reminds viewers of Metin, and some already refer to it as Metin 3.
- The trailer receives praise for the soundtrack, which is reminiscent of Game of Thrones.
We will likely get a better insight into the MMORPG with the start of the Early Access phase in about a week.
