Call of Duty: Warzone has a new pistol – Sykov. The handgun has a barrel with fully automatic fire and can hold up to 80 rounds in the magazine. MeinMMO shows you how to unlock it, which setup to use, and why it’s directly OP.
The Sykov has been in the game for a long time but is now available as a full weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone. Until now, you could get it through the Survival mode of Modern Warfare and try it out there. From the start, the pistol gave the impression that it was too powerful for Battle Royale. This is mainly due to:
- The fully automatic barrel with a high rate of fire
- The massive 80-round drum
- The Sykov as Akimbo with 2 weapons in hand
Now it is in the game, and according to the first reactions, the analysts are right: The Sykov is exaggeratedly strong, has an incredibly low time-to-kill potential, and is now definitely the best secondary weapon in the game. MeinMMO shows you a setup, value comparison, and how to get the gun.
CoD Warzone: Unlocking Sykov
How do I get the weapon? You need to complete a challenge in the game: Kill 4 enemies with pistols in 5 different matches.
The fastest way to do this is in the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare. The weapon is still part of the old CoD and cannot be unlocked or used in Cold War. If you only play the free2play Warzone, start a Plunder match for this. Grab a pistol and go hunting.
However, keep in mind that you should always finish the matches. If you get your kills and then leave the match early, there is a risk that your progress will not be counted.
You can do it faster with a purchasable bundle in the cash shop. For 2,400 CoD Points, you can get the “Sparks Operator Bundle” for the Sykov release in the shop. The blueprint for the pistol already has the barrel for fully automatic fire. However, you still need to unlock the weapon the regular way to unlock all attachments.
Why is the Sykov exaggeratedly strong?
The time-to-kill of the new pistol is absolutely top-notch. Once you have unlocked the automatic barrel (Sorokin 140mm Auto), this thing can even compete with the large primary weapons, and as Akimbo version, you can take down your enemies without having to shove them in the trash first.
Here is the TTK comparison for chest hits with the popular FFAR 1:

The automatic Sykov comes very close to the TTK value of the FFAR, and as an Akimbo variant, it simply outperforms all automatics in the game. The numbers:
- FFAR TTK: 467 milliseconds
- Sykov Auto TTK: 482 milliseconds
- Sykov Auto Akimbo TTK: 241 milliseconds
With the Akimbo variant, you cannot aim down sights anymore and lose some precision, and as full-auto, you do not get extra damage on headshots. But even if half of your shots go astray, you are still on par with the FFAR. Plus, there are the huge monster magazines that hold up to 80 rounds per weapon. So together, you have 160 bullets at your disposal.
And the Sykov is just a pistol. You can pack it as a secondary weapon in your loadout and still bring the strong perk “Ghost”. While the recoil is quite significant, it is negligible compared to the weapon’s advantages. We will also include a short gameplay clip featuring the Sykov:
CoD Warzone: Sykov Setup for vicious close-combat mayhem
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: Sorokin 140mm Auto
- Laser: 5mW Laser
- Ammunition: 80-round drum
- Perk: Akimbo
If the Sykov remains in its current state, it is likely to become one of the best close-combat weapons in Warzone. Along with the new sniper, ZRG 20mm, which is considered the new best long-range sniper, two new meta weapons have now been introduced within a short period. The new Season 3 is also starting soon, with further balance changes expected and at least 2 new shooting weapons anticipated.
There is considerable movement in the weapon gameplay of the Battle Royale, and the meta carousel is starting to turn. Check MeineMMO regularly to stay up to date.
