In The First Descendant, there is a plague that has been annoying fans since release, and that is the parasites. Players who blindly follow you without playing the mission, shooting opponents, or helping you. However, soon you won’t have to deal with these players anymore, as the developers have an effective solution to the problem.
What do these parasites want? Nothing but loot, while other players do the work. They just stand around or follow you, not actively participating in missions or operations, and only wait for the loot distribution that awaits at the end.
Through their selfish behavior, they hinder other players, as these have to fill the gap left by the indifferent teammate. Even in advance, the developers were aware that such a problem exists, but until now they could only implement a new reporting function so fans could bring attention to these players.
However, with the latest patch, which is set to be released on August 13, things will change, including how The First Descendant deals with these AFK players.
AFK farming will become more difficult in Special Operations
What is The First Descendant planning? With Hotfix 1.0.7, the developers want to filter players in the “Special Operations”. At each major stage, players can choose whether to continue or quit. The system should now be able to recognize who is just standing around AFK. This will result in an immediate selection of “quit” for these players.
It is still unknown what hit rate the system operates with and whether it can be outsmarted. However, the developers are definitely demonstrating that they are actively working on a solution to the problem to enable players to enjoy their gaming experience.
When is the patch coming? Hotfix 1.0.7 is scheduled for release on August 13, 2024 – which is a Tuesday. However, it will not only bring the change for AFK players but also adjustments for item farming. The patch notes are likely to appear only on the day of the patch itself, so you will have to be a little patient.
