In March, the developers of Atlas are planning a major overhaul for their pirate MMO. This aims to fix many major issues. At the same time, all servers will be reset so that no player can benefit from old errors.
That is set to change: In their roadmap, Grapeshot Games presents three major aspects that will be worked on in the March update:
- World redesign
- Reworking of claims
- New war system
Additionally, many small problems will also be addressed, such as the ships of the damned, which will be appearing in greater numbers but significantly weaker in the future.
What happens to the current progress? To ensure that individual players do not have advantages after the major update, the developers will reset all servers.
This means that all players start completely from scratch. However, all players who have logged into Atlas before the update will receive exclusive cosmetic rewards.

Atlas is expanding – Over 200 new islands await you
Here’s what is changing in the world of Atlas: The developers want to provide all players with a home. Therefore, the world is also set to be enlarged. Additionally, some innovations and cosmetic adjustments are planned.
In every part of the world, there will be a new island. Overall, the world will be divided into 225 smaller regions, so each region will be equipped with a new island.

What to expect in March: The March update will feature many innovations, including a submarine and a guillotine. With the submarine, you can also explore a new underwater world.
The patch will also bring several cosmetic innovations, such as wooden legs and hook hands.

What changes in server selection: At the start of the update, the developers will also allow a switch of home servers. If you are not satisfied with your current world, you can choose a new one at the end of March.

Attacks on islands only with the owners’ consent
The combat and conquest system in Atlas will undergo a major overhaul with the patch. Players will now theoretically be able to build on any island.
These are the settlements: In the future, an island will have only one location that can be claimed. This location will be referred to as a “settlement.” The owner of the settlement owns the island.
While non-owners of the island can also build there, their buildings can be attacked immediately. Furthermore, these constructions will decay over time.
Island owners, on the other hand, have special rules. A period of 9 hours must be specified during which the settlement is vulnerable every day.
During this time, the buildings can be attacked. Otherwise, they are invulnerable.

What is changing in the companies: The size of a company has been reduced to 250 members. Additionally, a company can now only be in two alliances at the same time.
The alliances themselves will also be adjusted. The maximum size per alliance will be set at four companies.

How to recognize friend and foe: To ensure that players can clearly see whether an island belongs to allies or enemies, they will be colored differently.
This way, there will be different colors for your own island, the allied island, and the island of non-allied players.
