Paradox has introduced the game that has been developing in the World of Darkness universe for years. Some fans actually expected an MMO. Instead, the single-player RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was revealed.
What was announced? Paradox Interactive presented the role-playing game
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, which is a sequel to the hit from 2004 and is set to release in 2020.
Contrary to initial assumptions, it is not an MMO, but a single-player RPG. The story was developed by Brian Mitsoda, who also wrote the story for the first installment. The focus of the title is on experiencing a dark story and fighting against the children of the night.

No MMO in sight
Is there multiplayer? So far, nothing has been said about a potential multiplayer mode. It seems that
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is purely a single-player game.
Why did players suspect it could become an MMO? In 2006, CCP Games, the developers of EVE Online, acquired the publisher White Wolf.
This company is behind the Pen & Paper role-playing games of “World of Darkness,” which includes Vampire: The Masquerade.
There were plans for an MMO within the World of Darkness. Even artworks for the title were shown. However, the project was canceled and in October 2015, CCP sold White Wolf to Paradox Interactive.
Paradox teased a game in the same year, which suggested that the company would revive the MMO. However, it has been quiet about the title since then.
Now it is confirmed that with Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, a single-player RPG is coming out.
Does this mean there will be no World of Darkness MMO? It is quite possible that Paradox is still working on more games in this universe or has plans to also release an MMO.
However, nothing is known about this at the moment. But one should not give up hope.
If the World of Darkness returns to the minds of players through Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and the title sells well, it could be possible that an MMO follows.
