What are the special features of the game? The development team places a strong emphasis on detail and realism:
- The ships are based on original models from the 18th century
- Each ship has a specific role
- The developers have integrated anti-hacker measures from the beginning
- Even the wave action is calculated realistically and plays a role in sailing and battles
- Damage is calculated realistically and impacts your ship
Since when has the game been available? Since June 13, Naval Action is no longer in the Early Access phase. You can purchase the MMO for €36.99 via Steam.

A Beautiful Sailing Ship Game
What do players think of the MMO? According to Steamcharts, the player count currently averages 388 concurrent players. At peak times, there were 1,712 players in the past 30 days.
The rating on Steam is currently “mixed” with 58 percent. This is mainly due to player discontent regarding the developers’ wipe decision. The MMO is generally well-received and was even a surprise hit during the Early Access phase.
There is currently some criticism of the developers as there was a wipe after the end of the Early Access phase when it was said there wouldn’t be one. Additionally, the fact that sieges of ports are only possible in clans is not well received.
However, there are also many positive voices:
- Trino says on Steam, “The game is the best pirate or sailing ship game that has ever existed. The ship combat is wonderfully immersive, easy to learn but hard to master.”
- Fresh_Killer23 writes: “Aside from the negative reviews directed at the developers, the game is fantastic. There is a hardcore grind, but it is still a beautiful game.”
