Ravendawn is a new MMORPG that reminds of old-school titles like Tibia and Ultima Online. The game finally has a release date, but before that, interested players can try a free open beta.
What is Ravendawn?
- Ravendawn is a 2D sandbox MMORPG in a top-down perspective and offers classic gameplay from old-school MMORPGs like Tibia and Ultima Online.
- The game has a huge open world, where houses can be built everywhere. The entire economy is run by the players.
- There are 56 different classes. Each of them has three specializations that can be wildly combined. Therefore, there are many ways to express your own playstyle.
The game had four alpha weekends in June 2022, where the MMORPG could be tested. At that time, fans suspected that the game would be released by the end of 2022. Unfortunately, it won’t happen until 2024, but interested players won’t have to wait too long.

Ravenclaw: Dates for release and free open beta confirmed
When does Ravenclaw release? The sandbox MMORPG is set to release for free on January 16, 2024. To download the game, you need to visit the official site.
To finance the game, there will be an optional premium subscription. You can get it for $6.49 (about 6 euros) per month. As a reward, there will be exclusive in-game currency.
And when is the open beta? Before that, players can test the title. The final open beta is scheduled to start on December 14, 2023. The beta is supposed to last the entire weekend. Exact times are not known yet.
The following content is expected to be available in the open beta:
- Balance changes
- Quality-of-life improvements
- New content such as hunting trophies or weapon attacks
With the open beta, you can familiarize yourself with the skills in advance and even choose a spot for your future house. You can also weigh whether the previously mentioned premium account would be something for you. This is also a part of the open beta, which is otherwise completely free.
If you sign up for a premium subscription before the release, rewards such as titles, skins, companions, and more await you. To participate in the open beta, you just need to create an account on the official site.
Is there any important date to note? If you have supported the game through a supporter pack, you should also mark January 9, 2024, in your calendar. On that day, the reservation for your account names begins.
If you are interested in the game, you could use that day to ensure your account name isn’t taken. Otherwise, creative names or something like “123” will have to be added to your name.
