Blizzard has commented on the models of Worgen and Goblins in World of Warcraft. The news is likely to sadden some players.
At BlizzCon 2017, a lot of questions were asked about World of Warcraft and the upcoming expansion Battle for Azeroth. In addition to countless pieces of information and details about the gameplay and story of the expansion, there was also the opportunity on the various panels to bombard Blizzard developers with questions.
During the “The Art of World of Warcraft” panel, a fan asked the question that many have been longing to know.
Will Goblins and Worgen finally get new character models with Battle for Azeroth?
All “old” races, including Blood Elves and Draenei, had already received an update with Warlords of Draenor. Pixelated polygon heaps became appealing characters that finally had proper facial animations.
However, this was not the case for Worgen and Goblins. The models were still “too new” and an overhaul was not considered necessary. They planned to “address it later.” Now the days of Legion are numbered, and there is still no update.
No new models for Worgen and Goblins in Patch 8.0
Blizzard has now announced the bad news: There will be no overhaul of Goblins and Worgen with Patch 8.0, which is the launch of Battle for Azeroth.
However, they plan to add this in a later patch. They are already “in the works.”
At least for the female Worgen, Blizzard has already announced a minor improvement. They will be given additional faces that will make them look a bit more like wolves – and a bit less like Chihuahuas.
Do you play Goblins or Worgen and are bothered by this delay? Or do you find the models of these two races perfectly fine as they are?
