Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has just launched the first Open Alpha in 2v2 mode on PlayStation 4. Additionally, there is a new map along with a gameplay variant that resembles Battle Royale.
What is currently happening in the Modern Warfare Alpha? From August 23 to 26, 2019, the multiplayer alpha of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently running. However, it is only available on PlayStation 4 and only in the 2v2 “Gunfight” mode.
The mode has already been well received by Twitch professionals and players. However, the developers want to provide a small highlight and have announced a new map with its own gameplay variant via Reddit.
Mode “Pickup” as Mini-Battle-Royale
This is included in the new Pickup mode: In a summary of the current Alpha on Reddit, the developers announced a new map along with a game mode variation. This is expected to be launched over the weekend.
The new mode is called “Pickup” and will come along with a new map named “Stack”. Unlike the regular 2v2 Gunfight, here you start with just a pathetic pistol. Better weapons and equipment are scattered throughout the map and hidden in crates.
Starting as a relatively defenseless victim and desperately searching for new weapons to stay one step ahead of the opponent is a significant part of a Battle Royale battle.
This feeling is what the Pickup mode is supposed to convey. Especially since it is still unclear whether Modern Warfare will get a proper BR mode. If so, Gunfight would be the only way to satisfy your Battle Royale cravings in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
