Crowfall – Release still in 2020?
This is Crowfall: Crowfall departs significantly from traditional MMORPGs and instead focuses on different worlds. The Eternal Kingdoms serve as the social world where players can trade, build their own houses, and interact. It is permanently available.
Additionally, there are 3 scenarios in which you can immerse yourself with an avatar that only last for a cycle from spring to winter before restarting:
- God’s Reach is a pure PvE world intended to introduce players to Crowfall.
- The Infected is a PvP world in which three factions fight against each other.
- Dregs is a campaign specifically for guild versus guild battles.
The goal is to collect success and resources for the Eternal Kingdoms. You have 11 different classes and 33 sub-classes available.
How has development gone so far? Crowfall started with a Kickstarter campaign in 2015 and raised about 1.76 million dollars. This was followed by several injections of funding and the licensing of their own engine.
At some point, so much money was available that new features were continuously developed. There were complete overhauls of graphics and class systems.
However, this also led to the release being postponed repeatedly. It was announced for 2019 but did not appear.
Here is where Crowfall stands in March 2020: As early as September 2019, Crowfall released something like a release plan. It stated that the open beta was supposed to start in February 2020. That would actually already be the case.
According to a new statement from March 2020, the MMORPG is supposed to be 99.99% finished. However, a bug causing severe lags in Crowfall cannot be fixed.
When the open beta starts, the servers are mainly to be stressed. An official release for 2020 has not been announced, but it is possible.
