With Warhammer: Odyssey, a new mobile MMORPG for Android and later iOS has launched. We explain how it is received by players.
What is Warhammer: Odyssey? It is a classic MMORPG where you explore the dark world of the Warhammer universe. The game is inspired by online role-playing games like Neverwinter and allows you to explore areas filled with monster battles and quests.
- Your hero is customizable and belongs to one of the 6 classes – Archmage, Shadow Warrior, Witch Hunter, Warrior Priest, Slayer, Engineer –
- In quests and side missions, you encounter well-known characters from the Warhammer games
- Adventures await you in many locations familiar to Warhammer fans, including the Drakwald Forest and the city of Marienburg
- You can create a guild and support each other
- There is no autoplay, you have to play everything actively yourself
Warhammer is back as a mobile MMORPG
When did the game launch? The global release took place on February 22. You can download Warhammer: Odyssey now from the Google Play Store. As of February 23 at 10:00 AM, the MMORPG was not yet available in the Apple App Store. It was still under review.
Is it possible to play in German? Currently, Warhammer: Odyssey is only available in English. The team has already stated they are considering localizations in other languages after the launch, depending on community demand.
How is the game received? The ratings in the Google Play Store currently (as of February 23 at 10:00 AM) stand at 1,440 votes and 3.5 out of 5 stars.
The game is praised mainly for the Warhammer feel, no pay-to-win, and the absence of autoplay. Criticism, however, is directed at technical issues and the rather weak quests.

- MCHAST gives a detailed account on Reddit: “I will give my honest feedback as someone who has played a lot of live-service games and spent years playing MMOs, as well as other Warhammer games. The game is nowhere near as good as I had hoped. There are only two things to do in this game. Fetch quests and grinding mobs. ‘World bosses’ belong to the latter, and selling things in the auction house is not content. I’m not saying that grinding mobs is bad. Some people enjoy it, especially MMO veterans. But the reason it’s bad is that it’s all there is to do. So far, I believe this is a weak game. Not necessarily bad, considering what kind of launch it is, but it leaves a lot to be desired.”
