The company Netmarble has announced the new MMORPG Arthdal Chronicles, in line with the Netflix series of the same name. The game aims to be realistic and requires players to change clothes and consume the right foods.
What kind of game is this? Arthdal Chronicles is a new MMORPG that is supposed to be released simultaneously for PC and mobile. The story and the game world are based on the series of the same name. The content revolves around various tribes fighting for dominance in the mystical land of Arth. Some also refer to the series as a Korean Game of Thrones.
The following things are known about the game’s structure:
- The story is to be implemented together with the writers of the series. The MMORPG will have new areas and tribes that have not yet appeared in the series.
- The game world is to be open and without loading screens. Exploration is expected to play a major role.
- There will be a day/night cycle and a dynamic weather system.
- Players will be able to swim.
- Exploration of the world will involve some real obstacles. You will have to build bridges to reach certain locations, adapt clothing to the respective area, and consume varied food.
- Struggles for power, conflicts between factions, and the economic framework should feel as if players live in a real society within the MMORPG.
A trailer with initial gameplay scenes has been embedded for you. It also shows some initial fights that have a rather typical Asian look and, according to the animations, seem to be more like tab-targeting.
When is the release date? There is currently no specific statement on this. However, the game is being created in conjunction with a second season of the series.
According to Netmarble, Arthdal Chronicles is expected to increase the global attention for the series. So we can expect a global release of the MMORPG.

Who develops the MMORPG? Netmarble is primarily known in the West for mobile games such as Lineage 2 Revolution or A3: Still Alive.
The company is currently working on several new games, including a mobile MMORPG based on Game of Thrones. Additionally, at the event “Netmarble Together with Press,” a new MMORPG featuring cryptocurrency was announced: TS Project.
However, among all the new games, Arthdal Chronicles seems the most promising. After all, it is based on a Netflix series, completely forgoes cryptocurrency, and plans to launch a PC version and a global release right from the start.
