Bless Unleashed has learned lessons – now wants to do everything better
Why should you check out Bless Unleashed? We from MeinMMO spoke with the developers of Round Studio 8. They show self-criticism regarding Bless Online. That was the MMORPG that promised much to players in the West in 2018 and was then shut down after just one year.
The problems at that time were mainly due to technical aspects and broken promises. This should not happen again:
We learned a lot from the team that worked on Bless Online about creating MMORPGs, and also from our own experience working with the Unreal Engine.
Not only is the technology behind Bless Unleashed more robust and suitable for MMORPGs, but the content we filled it with is better.
We designed Bless Unleashed from the ground up with a focus on a Western console and PC audience. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Bless Online was released on Unreal Engine 3 – and that caused problems. Therefore, Bless Unleashed uses Unreal Engine 4.
More about the gameplay and the look of the game is shown in this trailer:
How is Bless Unleashed performing so far? The MMORPG was already released in spring 2020 for Xbox One. It is not overwhelmingly successful there, but it is not a disaster either, unlike Bless in 2018.
Criticism can be found in the comments here on MeinMMO, especially for the lack of innovations and varied gameplay. However, the developers themselves somewhat contradict this:
We believe the biggest selling point of Bless Unleashed is its combat system – there are not many (if any) MMOs that offer this kind of impactful combat in a souls-like style, and every class feels unique and interesting.
In addition to battles, our massive field bosses in the open world provide unparalleled challenges and rewards for dozens of players at once, without having to wait hours to find groups or fill raid spots.
The PC version of Bless Unleashed is set to be released in 2021 and will launch with all the content that the Xbox and PS4 versions also have. So there will be no content differences between the versions.
Although there will be no crossplay at the beginning, the developers are already working on an implementation, which is said to be technically not so easy.
