Tales of Shadowland is a new MMORPG developed by a Brazilian indie studio. It will be Free2Play and is expected to enter Alpha in 2022. We at MeinMMO reveal what the game is about.
What kind of MMORPG is this? Tales of Shadowland will be a sandbox MMORPG in isometric view. The game is characterized by many freedoms:
- There is a game world divided into different regions with varying biomes.
- There are no classes or levels; instead, you will specifically train certain skills to improve in them.
- However, there will be different races from which you can create your character, including humans, elves, dwarves, and orcs.
- You will be able to tame your own mounts and pets in the open world. The accompanying trailer shows the player fighting alongside 3 animal companions. It seems possible to have multiple pets.
- Players are supposed to be able to manage the economy and trade themselves.
- There will be integration of blockchain and NFTs.
Visually and in terms of gameplay, it somewhat resembles Fractured, another sandbox MMORPG in development. However, there are no exact statements yet regarding gameplay content, such as whether the focus is on PvE or PvP. However, there are expected to be 100 maps and 15 dungeons before the release.
The developers promise a Free2Play model with no barriers. Pay2Win and paid DLCs or content are therefore excluded.

Alpha in 2022, PC release and later mobile
When will Tales of Shadowland be released? According to the roadmap, Alpha 1 is expected to start in the first quarter of 2022. It will include gathering, crafting, taming pets and mounts, NPC interactions, 10 maps, and 2 dungeons.
Alpha 2 is expected to begin in Q3 2022, and the beta is scheduled for early 2023.
How do you get into the Alpha? By inviting friends. You can register on the official website for the game and then receive a link to send to other people (via Tales of Shadowland).
If at least 10 people register through the link, you will gain access to the beta. If 20 people register, you will gain access to the alpha. Those who invite 50 people will receive automatic access to the alpha for themselves and the 50 members of their “guild”.
There are currently no packages that you can purchase to join the alpha. However, a crowdfunding campaign is expected to launch in the first quarter, where such access may be available.
