A new MMORPG presents its dark sci-fi setting in the reveal trailer and already gives a first glimpse of the gameplay. This is reminiscent of the newer Final Fantasy games.
Which game is being discussed? It currently carries the name Project DNA and was first announced on February 24, 2026, with a gameplay reveal trailer. The game, which is said to be an “AAA action MMORPG,” is being developed by the Korean studio Supervoid using Unreal Engine 5.
There is currently no release window for the game. However, the reveal trailer already showcases the dark sci-fi setting and gives a first insight into the gameplay:

Action MMORPG in a Dark Science Fiction World
What is the game about? Project DNA takes place in the year 2046: The sudden impact of an asteroid forced humanity underground. While the surface lay in ruins, society made great strides in biotechnology within the bunkers.
The technological advancement has produced humans with supernatural powers and even allows them to transfer memories from one body to another. Humanity has thus discovered the path to immortality, even if bodies become mere shells.
Project DNA draws heavily on classic themes of the cyberpunk genre: What makes a human? Is immortality a blessing or a curse? Even the first seconds of the trailer strongly remind one of the Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell, which already dealt with such questions in 1989.
What do we know about the gameplay? A large part of the trailer consists of actual gameplay, the developers emphasize. Thus, quite a bit can already be inferred. Besides the environments with their dark, industrial style and the desolate surface of the Earth, there are also some battles to be seen.
The combat system in Project DNA is said to be action-based. You do not just attack enemies blindly, but must dodge attacks at the right moment. You can either engage in melee combat – such as with a flaming sword – or hurl fireballs and lightning at enemies. The effects are reminiscent of Final Fantasy, at least the newer titles with real-time combat.
On the developers’ official website (www.supervoid.co.kr), 6 characters are already introduced. It seems as though you will play a pre-made character – there doesn’t seem to be a character editor. Furthermore, the developers tease an “Evolution System” that is supposed to allow characters to “grow and adapt in unique ways.” However, the developers have not yet revealed what exactly this entails.
