With The Legend of Neverland (Android, iOS), a new MMORPG has been introduced in Korea that is strongly reminiscent of Genshin Impact. It is said to be coming to us soon. We at MeinMMO reveal what the game is about.
What kind of game is this? The Legend of Neverland is a mobile MMORPG planned for Android and iOS. It is being developed by the Korean company Frima GameArk Global. It features a colorful and open game world and visually and gameplay-wise resembles Genshin Impact:
- You create a character in an editor at the beginning and can determine gender and appearance
- There are various classes with different weapons and abilities
- The game features an action-packed combat system
- You will be accompanied by different fairies that assist you in battle
- You can expect typical quests like “Collect Berries” or “Kill Foxes”
- You can acquire mounts
- In the endgame, PvP elements, guilds, and an extensive costume system await you
When will the game be released? The Legend of Neverland is currently in pre-registration in Korea and is expected to be released here soon:
- In the App Store, there is talk of an expected release on July 15, 2021 (via App Store)
- The game has also been listed in the Google Play Store (via Play Store).

The Legend of Neverland resembles Genshin Impact, uses the same monetization
This is how the game is perceived: So far, The Legend of Neverland is not playable for us in the West, but under the many gameplay videos on YouTube, a clear picture emerges. While people would like an MMORPG reminiscent of Genshin Impact, they are bothered by several things:
- The battles and quests seem to offer little variety
- The performance appears to be rather weak in many videos
- The game is only coming to mobile platforms
- The graphics and the entire game remind too much of Genshin Impact, but more like a worse version of it
On TapTap, a gaming platform from Asia, The Legend of Neverland currently has a rating of 7.2 out of 10 stars, but it only has 25 reviews (via TapTap).
Why the comparison to Genshin Impact? Both games feature almost identical art styles and colorful game worlds. The combat system and movement also immediately remind players of the action RPG by miHoYo. At the beginning, you are accompanied by a fairy that many compare to Paimon.
Also, it seems that the game uses some of the voices from characters in Genshin Impact, as some users point out in the comment sections of the videos.
The similarities between the two games were highlighted by video game analyst Daniel Ahmad with various images on Twitter:
Both titles also resemble each other in their monetization methods. In The Legend of Neverland, you can acquire fairies that accompany you in battle. These are tied to a gacha system and require the use of real money currency.
However, there are also several differences between the games, including the MMORPG aspect, PvP, and character creation.
