Nexon announces in a video an upcoming MMORPG titled “Project DX”. It throws you into a world full of dinosaurs.
The video lasts just under half a minute and shows a roaring T-Rex in a forest area. As lightning and thunder strike, it stretches its head towards the sky. At the end, the words “Beyond the Durango” appear.
Therefore, it could be that the MMORPG is connected to a popular mobile game from 2019. It was called Durango: Wild Lands and was taken offline by Nexon without providing a proper explanation.
Here you can see the teaser:
What kind of game was that? The gameplay and setting of Durango: Wild Lands were similar to that of Ark Survival, which is why it was considered the “Ark for mobile” back then. You had to survive in a world full of dinosaurs, fight them, or tame them. Through crafting, players acquired useful items and could build their own base. There was also PvP.
In addition, it offered detailed and engaging graphics. You looked at the events from an isometric perspective and saw beautiful landscapes that needed exploring.
Will the new MMORPG be the same? Whether Project DX is really a continuation and set in the same universe is currently unknown. Aside from the teaser, there is no information about the exact gameplay.
It is also uncertain for which platform Project DX will be released. It could be for PC, mobile devices, or both at the same time. A console version is also possible.
More information may be available at the South Korean G-Star, a gaming fair taking place from November 17 to 21, 2022.
What do you think about Project DX? Will it be a game like Ark Survival, only as an MMORPG? Did you play the mobile game Durango: Wild Lands back when it was online? Or is the game entirely new to you and you are excited about the dinosaurs? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
