At the latest after The Day Before, players are extra cautious when it comes to games that sound too good to be true. One such case is the new MMORPG The Quinfall, which is supposed to be released on Steam.
Why does the MMORPG sound too good to be true? The Quinfall is being developed by a Turkish indie studio and promises a variety of features. The features can be summarized as follows:
- Beautiful graphics and a dynamic weather and seasonal system
- Mounts and pets can supposedly be bred by players, and there will also be shops and taverns to own
- Players should be able to build houses and ships
- For PvE players, the title is said to offer dungeons and gigantic boss fights
- For PvP players, there are supposed to be huge battles
- an engaging action-based combat system
In the past, the developers have garnered negative attention for several points, leading some players to suspect that this could be a scam.
The developers are said to be using both AI and purchased assets for the game. The team programming the MMORPG is reportedly just nine people, and stock photos were supposedly used for the presentation of the developer studio. Recently, we reported in detail about the allegations.
Here you can see the first trailer for The Quinfall again.
This is how The Quinfall wants to convince you that it is real
With a beta test that started on January 30, players from the community are now allowed to test the game for the first time. However, the test is secret. All participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement before they can start playing.
On The Quinfall’s Discord, a screenshot from the beta is occasionally posted, only to be deleted shortly after. So the beta seems to be real. However, you currently cannot test The Quinfall anymore, as registration for the beta is already closed.
Is there anything else to see about the game? Yes, in fact, the developers published an interview at the beta launch, where a developer is interviewed about the new gameplay of the game. He also touches on interesting content.
You can watch the entire interview in Turkish here:
What is shown in the video? The video provides us with a good amount of gameplay. The game does not seem to be a scam. The video is long, showing various elements of the game such as fishing, fighting, and PvP, and appears real. The massive map, which is said to be 2016 km² in size, is also shown in the video.
The developer also states that The Quinfall only needs to be purchased once, and there will be no subscription, in addition to more betas to follow that will allow more players insight into the game without having to purchase it.
We have provided you with some images from the gameplay here, so you can get an impression.
Whether the game is a scam or if just about a dozen people can create an MMORPG using purchased assets remains to be seen. If a new beta is announced that you can test, we will notify you at MeinMMO. In the meantime, you can take a look at one of the oldest MMORPGs, as there is a big anniversary and many new contents this year.
