The MMORPG Mortal Online 2 is currently in an Alpha on Steam and promises gigantic PvP battles on a single server. Basically, everyone fights against everyone.
What is Mortal Online 2? The MMORPG is the successor to the hardcore MMORPG Mortal Online released in 2010. It has a reputation for appealing only to players who are very resistant to frustration. There is a lot of loot, and ganking, or the constant attacking of weaker players, is very present. However, PvP fans love Mortal Online precisely because it is so difficult and merciless.
Part 2, while focusing on PvP, aims to be significantly more accessible and to offer PvE elements.
One server for all
What is special about Mortal Online 2? The MMORPG offers only a single server where all players are active. You explore a game world that is six times larger than in the predecessor.
To avoid unfair situations where players with high ping are constantly defeated by those with a better connection, the team is constantly working on optimizations to the network code. Furthermore, a special system is implemented, preventing players with higher ping from having disadvantages. The system will soon be tested in the Alpha. The developers are proud of what they have achieved, as it is reportedly very hard to implement something like this in an MMORPG.
Since there will only be a single server, massive battles can occur.
What do the battles in the MMORPG look like? In addition to duels, there are also sieges and massive territorial wars. Hundreds of players are supposed to participate in the battles. The exact number cannot be named yet by the developers as further testing is necessary to optimize the network code. However, the battles are already said to be gigantic.
What about ganking? Ganking was a problem in Mortal Online 1. This is why the MMORPG has developed into a niche game. It appeals only to hardcore PvP players who do not place a high value on fairness.
In Mortal Online 2, there are strict rules. Players who kill others without reason will be branded as murderers. Criminal players are supposed to have some disadvantages, which means everyone should think twice before engaging in ganking. However, the exact rules and penalties have not yet been fully developed by the developers.
PvE also plays a role
What do the PvE elements look like? PvE is a new core pillar in Mortal Online 2. You can hunt monsters and bosses in the wilderness. These fights are supposed to be exciting and interesting, attracting PvE fans. Nevertheless, the focus is on PvP battles.
What status is the MMORPG in? Mortal Online 2 is currently in an Alpha. If you want to participate, you can purchase the Conflux Package for around 150 dollars on the official website. This gives you immediate access to the Alpha as well as an account for Mortal Online 1.
The developers cannot say how long the MMORPG will be in Alpha. Only when they are satisfied with the status, will the online game launch on Steam. According to the developers, Mortal Online 2 will be “developed forever,” so it cannot be considered a classic release.
