On Steam, you can play the Free2Play MMORPG Therais Book. We at MeinMMO will tell you what the online role-playing game has to offer and how it is being received.
What is Therais Book? The MMORPG basically offers what you would expect from an online role-playing game:
- An open world
- Guilds
- PvP
- Quests
- Pets that fight alongside you and improve
- Rare items that you need to search for
- Fights against boss monsters
You can download Therais Book as a Free2Play MMORPG for free via Steam. However, the game is still in the early access phase.
What is so special about the game? Therais Book is developed by a single person. The developer works on the game in their spare time but has a “real” job as well.
A One-Man Team Develops an MMORPG
How does the developer manage it all alone? An MMORPG toolset for the Unity engine is used. Therefore, the developer does not have to program and create everything from scratch, but relies on a toolkit.
With this, they create the world, quests, and everything that goes with it.
How is the MMORPG being received? The general ratings are at 71% (based on 35 votes, as of May 20 at 9:30 AM). The 19 ratings from the last 30 days are at 68% (via Steam).
However, there are very few players online. The peak since release was 10 simultaneous active players (via SteamDB).
Therais Book is doing quite well, even if the number of players has been very low so far. Here are some opinions summarized for you:
- Dog writes (via Steam): “I was quite fascinated when I found out that one person made this game. So I tried it without expecting much. But sheesh, this is a really impressive MMORPG.”
- Sanctum elaborates (via Steam): “Fun and interesting early access game. There are some bugs with the sound effects, minimal content, and very little crafting, but it’s a solid start. A big thumbs up for the developer.”
- BawassHoG explains (via Steam): “Great free game. There’s still little to do at the moment, but it has a nice concept.”
- J Dub says (via Steam): “I played it for about 30 minutes. There’s understandably not much to do at the moment. But I like the commitment of a one-man developer and I’m curious to see what else comes from this project.”
- omguembes is somewhat disappointed with the limited scope (via Steam): “At first glance, an interesting game. But after two hours, where I leveled up to level 11 and walked around, there’s nothing left to do. And there are a few glitches that need to be fixed.”
