The MMORPG Toram Online is actually not new at all, as it has been successfully running for smartphones for 6 years. However, the game is now getting its own standalone PC version, which will run on Steam. We at MeinMMO summarize.
What is Toram Online? Toram Online is a classic MMORPG set in a medieval fantasy setting with significant Asian influences.
The game was released back in May 2015 for Android and iOS and has been very successful there ever since. It has average ratings of 4.5 out of 5 stars on both the App Store and Google Play, with over a million reviews.
Now the title is coming to PC with full functionality and will have its own standalone PC version that will run on Steam. However, the game is available only in English, along with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai.
What features does Toram have? Unlike many other MMORPGs that have been developed with a focus on mobile, Toram does not rely on features like auto-play or too many assistants. You still have to play yourself, which the community appreciates.
Here you can see a trailer for the game:
Other features of Toram include:
- Enormous character editor with over 500 billion possible combinations, according to the developers
- A classless character system, where you play what you wear – similar to New World
- Free skill trees, allowing you to customize your character as you wish. You are also not bound to classes here
- A fashion system, where you can customize the colors of weapons and armors at will
- Open world, dungeons, PvP and PvE battles, as well as quests and story
- Crossplay between all three systems
- Group content that you can manage more or less alone. For this, you can rely on NPC companions or call the characters of your friends for help, even if they are not online
When will the PC version be released? A specific date for the PC release of Toram Online has not been set yet. It is currently only listed as “Coming Soon” on Steam. There is also no further information on the developer’s website.
A game with potential and good ratings
What do the fans say? Both on the App Store and Google Play, Toram Online has a very good rating of 4.5 stars. Most reviews are therefore positive, and only a small fraction of players are dissatisfied.
However, the Free2Play MMORPG relies on a gacha mechanic and pay-to-win options at some points, which some fans find bitter. Nevertheless, it seems that Toram Online does not go as far as other genre colleagues.
How does the community rate it? We took a look at the reviews and comments for you and would like to briefly convey the mood (via play.google.com).
- MysteryMelody writes: ‘A great game! The graphics are great, the enemies and quests are diverse, and you unlock more outfits throughout the game to change your character. […] The game is not directly confusing, but there are many areas for improvement.’
- Teto Aphrodi writes: ‘Toram Online is a classic anime MMO with a few extra features. However, it is actually about 95 % Free2Play and not very grind-heavy, unless you want to belong to the top 20 %. You also need to read a bit into it, so I recommend creating a test character and playing until level 50 before starting the second one.’
- Ain writes: ‘I have been playing Toram since mid-2016. It is a little boring that the annual events keep repeating the same way. Otherwise, a lot of work is being done on the game and new content is coming regularly. […] It is also worth it to invest without real money, and you can get quite far that way.’
