With Perfect New World, a new MMORPG is coming for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. At its core, the game is meant to be a successor to Perfect World, which was released in 2005. A beta should start in a few weeks.
What kind of game is this? Perfect New World will be an Asia MMORPG with action-packed battles, good graphics, and a strong focus on dungeons and PvP. However, it is currently unclear whether there will be flight elements again and whether PvP will take place in the open world. Both were previously the case in Perfect World.
- In character creation, you have the choice of 3 races: Elvens, Mythics, and Humans. The editor is said to be very detailed.
- You also have the choice of 3 classes: Berserker, Mysticsword, and Galeblade.
- The combat system is said to be action-packed. The developers also promise a wide range of skills and combos.
- The actual game world is said to be completely open and without loading screens. Of course, this looks a bit different for instances.
- The game’s budget is 300 million yuan (about 38 million euros).
In 2021, the developer Perfect World announced 4 new games, including Perfect New World. There will also be a mobile version that is supposed to work independently, similar to what is the case with Black Desert Mobile.
When will Perfect New World be released? There is no concrete release date yet. However, you can already apply for a beta that is supposed to start in May.

What do we know about the beta? From April 7 to 23, you can register for the Closed Beta of Perfect New World (via Perfect World). This is meant to start on May 4, and the number of participants is to be gradually increased.
The test will take place in English on PC and is subject to a non-disclosure agreement. So you won’t be able to share your experiences outwardly. The developers also emphasize that this is still a very early version of the MMORPG and that some things may change during the beta.
Additionally, the progress you make in this beta will not carry over to future tests.
Why is the game interesting? Perfect World was a free-to-play MMORPG that was released in 2005 and was an alternative for many who could not afford the subscription of WoW or the one-time costs of Guild Wars 1.
It especially drew attention due to flying and fighting in the air. However, it was also one of the titles that were very pay-to-win.
With Perfect New World, a modern successor is now supposed to come. However, whether it will succeed in the West is questionable. Recently, many Asian MMORPGs have failed dramatically here. For 2023, I even expect that two more will die:
