What is Ashfall about? The setting of Ashfall strongly resembles Bethesda’s popular role-playing series Fallout. The MMORPG takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, where an artificial intelligence has ignited a nuclear war against humanity.
Soon, all that remains of humanity’s former structures are ruins, and the world is marked by a path of destruction. The planet continues to be destroyed.
You try to save the world and set out in search of the ‘Core of Creation’. Along the way, you encounter mutated creatures and human adversaries and traverse desolate deserts as well as abandoned cities. Additionally, each area in Ashfall is said to focus on a different theme with a ‘distinct cultural ambiance’.
What does the gameplay look like? Like Fallout, Ashfall primarily focuses on shooter gameplay and fundamentally differs from many MMORPGs that rely on magic and the European Middle Ages.
However, even though Ashfall is labeled as an MMORPG, it is designed to be playable both with friends and solo. Furthermore, the Steam page lists a number of gameplay elements that Ashfall is set to feature:

Originally, the closed beta for Ashfall was planned for July 2023, but it has been postponed by one month (via Twitter). The developers of the MMORPG state that the reason for the delay is that the game should be as free of bugs as possible for the test.
