MMORPG fans who want plenty to do, especially in the endgame, should keep an eye on Corepunk. But this interesting online game has even more exciting features to offer.
What is Corepunk? Corepunk aims to be a traditional MMORPG for thousands of players who experience a lot of adventure together in a world. This online role-playing game relies not only on classic elements like PvP and PvE but also wants to impress with interesting ideas.
- The MMORPG places you in a very unusual scenario. It mixes elements from cyberpunk and fantasy with steampunk and science fiction.
- You explore a vast open world where you travel through deserts, forests, big cities, or even dungeons in the mountains. You view the action similarly to Diablo 3 from an isometric perspective from above.
- There is a day-night cycle.
- The quests feature voice acting and are supposed to be very story-driven. There are sometimes multiple ways to achieve the objective, leading to a non-linear gameplay experience.
- The battles are fast-paced and action-packed, reminiscent of hack and slays.
- You can engage in crafting to create items for yourself.
- PvP takes place in arenas and on special battlefields.
- You choose your character from nine archetypes, including tanks, damage dealers, and healers, and you improve them through a talent tree.
What is special about Corepunk? The MMORPG aims to impress you with a lot of content, especially in the endgame. The developers at Artificial Core know that some online RPGs falter in this area and do not want to make the same mistake.
The problem with modern MMOs is not enough content in the final part of the game. Essentially, 40% of our game is designed for players to reach the maximum level. 60% of the game is dedicated to the endgame. It’s an open world, a vast wilderness where you find rare monsters and world bosses. There are also dungeons: randomly generated dungeons and custom dungeons. We also have rallies, arenas, battlegrounds, and just a lot of things to do.

Also interesting is that a fog of war obscures visibility. So you do not see everything that is happening around you. According to the developers, this should make it always exciting to explore new areas. Additionally, while escaping from a fight, you might run into other enemies hiding in the war fog.
When can you play? The open beta is planned for the fourth quarter of 2020. A closed beta is supposed to take place beforehand, for which you can register on the official website. The release will then be in 2021.
Corepunk will be released as a buy-to-play game and is currently only announced for PC. The developers want to offer purely cosmetic items through an in-game shop, allowing you to further customize your hero.
In addition to Corepunk, you can look forward to more exciting MMORPGs in 2020 and 2021. We will introduce these in the MeinMMO article about the 8 most promising new MMOs and MMORPGs for 2020 and 2021.
