The new MMORPG Scars of Honor is visually strongly oriented towards the classic World of Warcraft. However, the community is the focus here and it is supposed to offer “real Free2Play”. Now there is a large playtest in July.
What kind of game is Scars of Honor? Scars of Honor is supposed to be a classic MMORPG with tab-targeting. At the beginning, you can choose from one of eight different races, four of which belong to the “Sacred Order”, while the other four races belong to the “Domination”. Both groups are, of course, hostile to each other.
- The MMORPG offers 10 different classes and various races, including humans, dwarves, orcs, and undead.
- A major highlight is supposed to be the leveling process from 1 to 50. There are already dungeons that scale with your level and adjust accordingly.
- There is crafting and player housing.
- PvP takes place in the open world, but only between the two factions. You can experience arena PvP and battlegrounds in the new playtest.
- The community is supposed to have a lot of say in the development.
Scars of Honor is supposed to be a Free2Play MMORPG that is financed through a shop. However, the developers emphasize that this remains free of gameplay advantages. Pay2Win and also Pay2Progress or Pay2Comfort should be excluded. That is why the studio describes Scars of Honor as “the first real Free2Play MMORPG”.

A race is already in playtest behind the paywall
What kind of test is this? From July 3rd to 14th, Scars of Honor will start its largest playtest so far and include some features that were missing in the last test about 8 months ago. Now, all races are playable, there are weapons and armor, and you can actually fight.
However, these battles are not limited to PvE; the PvP arena mode is also included. In addition, you can test the battlegrounds where larger PvP battles are supposed to take place.
You can level up to level 10 and recently also improve your stats. Additionally, the first mounts and NPC shops are in the game. Compared to the last test, the game has added several features.
How can you join? Although Scars of Honor is supposed to be Free2Play in the end, you currently still have to pay to participate. You need to purchase either the “Supporter” or the “Honored” pack, which are available from €19.99 (via beastburst.com).

In the same shop, you can already buy skins that will then be transferred to the main game. This includes mounts, but also a whole race. The Nordrim are only available for money. They are considered a “sub-race” of humans and are significantly larger.
Those who do not want to pay can also download the “BeastBurst App” and complete activities there. However, you only have the “chance to win access” here, so it is not guaranteed.
