Since the shutdown of City of Heroes in 2012, players have been calling for a new, modern superhero MMORPG. With Valiance Online, such a game is coming, and you can test it soon in an Open Beta.
What is Valiance Online? The developers describe the game as an MMORPG in a vibrant world. You take on the role of superheroes and supervillains that you can develop according to your ideas by defining specific powers such as flying or superhuman strength and enhancing them.
You explore a large, open game world around the fictional city of San Cielo, which changes based on your actions and deeds. Supervillains want to dominate the world, while heroes stand against them, leading to a constant conflict.
Of course, the appearance of your character plays an important role. Superheroes and villains are always characterized by wacky costumes. Therefore, it is possible to customize your characters based on such costumes.
Additionally, you are allowed to create content such as quests for the MMORPG. This content will be approved by the developers and appear in the game.
Valiance Online is aimed at everyone who misses the MMORPG City of Heroes and finds it too risky to play on unofficial servers.
A brief Open Beta
When will the MMORPG be released? Valiance Online does not have a release date yet. However, an Open Beta has now been announced. It started today, on August 11.
What’s the catch? The Open Beta is time-limited. It will end on August 16.
What happens after that? The beta will return at an unspecified date, but in a closed form. Only backers of the game, who participate in the funding, will be able to continue experiencing adventures in the test version.
A second Open Beta is planned. This will start sometime after the backer beta.

On the official website of the MMORPG Valiance Online, you can donate some money and gain access to the alpha, which is already playable. Additionally, you will be able to continue playing after the Open Beta ends.
