A new MMORPG has launched with Kingdoms in Chaos, which will be released on Steam and puts you in the role of monsters or killers.
What is Kingdoms in Chaos? The MMORPG launched in Early Access on January 25 was inspired by the classic Ultima Online. This means you will find yourself in a sandbox world with block graphics, where you can forge your own path.
You can fight monsters in the wilderness and dungeons or simply be a craftsman who manufactures weapons for the warriors. Particularly ambitious players even have the chance to rise to become the ruler of their own city.
Do you prefer to be monsters or killers?
What is special about the game? Kingdoms in Chaos asks you whether you want to be a monster or a killer. You have the choice to be a human or elf or embody a monster race like orcs or undead. Monsters and humans/elves coexist in this world and must get along.
Furthermore, PvP plays an important role. It is possible that you play a treacherous killer who only aims to attack other players.
This is how you play: You can purchase the MMORPG directly via Steam for 9.99 euros and get started right away. However, keep in mind that it is still an Early Access version.
How is the MMORPG received? The rating on Steam is currently 81% and “Positive”. Players feel it strongly resembles the successful Oldschool RuneScape rather than Ultima Online. However, this is well received. But there is still plenty to do. The developer himself stated that the Early Access version is still full of bugs and not all content has been integrated. Graphically, Kingdoms in Chaos is no longer up to date.
Here we summarize a few voices from Steam for you:
- TTVMadDing writes (via Steam): “The idea is not bad at all. There is still a lot of work to be done, and it needs more content and bug fixes. But it is still an Early Access game.”
- Kresnaut says (via Steam): “Great game. Not complete, but it reminds me of Runescape from back in the day. Some systems do not work or need to be implemented; it is early access, so what do you expect?”
- Peekayboo has some criticism (via Steam): “The movements and interactions are really bad and probably keep most from enjoying the game.”
Players definitely see potential in the MMORPG. However, there is still much to be done in the game. Those who want to join now must live with bugs and little content.
