Gnome Online is a new sandbox MMORPG that gives you a lot of freedom. Your character does not level up; instead, you improve your stats. It focuses on real-time PvP with conquests.
On October 14, 2022, Gnome Online was released in Early Access. It is developed by the indie studio H-Production. They aim to create the “best PvP MMORPG on the market” and promise to continuously update Gnome Online with the help of players.
What kind of game is this? Gnome Online throws you into a fantasy world that graphically resembles Old School RuneScape. However, the gameplay is more aimed at PvP fans, as the MMORPG promises large battles between players on land and at sea.
The progression system differs from other MMORPGs. You do not have a level in which your character progresses. Instead, you level up skills and determine your playstyle as a result. There are no classes. The game replaces these with so-called “school skills,” of which you select one during character creation. All other skills can be leveled by any player later on.
The battles are dynamic and take place in real-time. You have to aim manually and also be careful not to hit your teammates, as there is Friendly Fire. To win battles, strategic approaches and teamwork are more important than leveled skills.

- Crafting – All items are made by players, which should create a dynamic economy.
- There is also PvE: In the open world, you will encounter roaming monsters.
Who is it worth it for? PvP fans can check out Gnome Online, while PvE players will not find it to their liking. If outdated graphics don’t bother you but rather evoke nostalgia, then this MMORPG is right for you.
Additionally, in Gnome Online, unlike many modern MMORPGs, you actually have to play with other players and communicate with them. If you enjoy that, you are in the right place.
