The new MMORPG Sol: Enchant has been introduced for the first time in a trailer. The game once again demonstrates how beautiful Unreal Engine 5 can look.
What kind of game is this? Sol: Enchant is a new MMORPG developed by Altnine and published by Netmarble. This is the first title from the developer studio, while the publisher has previously worked on titles such as Raven2, Blade & Soul: Revolution, and Lineage 2: Revolution.
According to a press release, Sol: Enchant is set to be released in the West on PC and mobile, in addition to its Korean home market, and is planned for 2026 at least in Korea. Players can expect a rich open world where they will experience “dramatic interactions”.
Graphically, the developers rely on Unreal Engine 5, which already showcases one of these “dramatic interactions” in excellent trailer graphics:
Good graphics impress players
What can be seen in the trailer? Sol: Enchant was first presented at the Korean game fair G-Star 2025. The developers showed the trailer, which can primarily score points for its beautiful graphics, as there is no gameplay visible in it.
The trailer depicts a battlefield and the fight between a knight in shining armor and an ogre-like creature wielding a club. In the background, a fortress and siege weapons can also be seen. From an old press release on www.alt9.co.kr, we know that the MMORPG is set in a Western-influenced fantasy world in the medieval period.
The trailer is then interrupted by one of the “dramatic interactions”, namely when a young god enters the battlefield and ends the fight by summoning a meteor falling from the sky.
According to initial information, the story of Sol: Enchant revolves around this very young god, whose interventions in the world change history. Whether we stand by his side or if this is already the introduction of the final boss remains unclear.
How is the trailer received? The trailer, which was also released on YouTube in parallel with the game fair, received many positive comments from fans but also some criticism.
Viewer @jezetor points out that in a cut scene a statue with 6 fingers on one hand can be seen. This strongly suggests the use of artificial intelligence as a tool, which often gets human fingers wrong. Also, a ring that suspiciously resembles the one from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is visible.
While many viewers praise the presentation in the comments, Korean-speaking viewers especially observe that it is heavily influenced by Lineage. The MMORPG brand is very popular in Korea. A distant relative of it is Throne and Liberty, which was originally developed as “Lineage Eternal” and “Project The Lineage”.
When Sol: Enchant will be released in the West and whether there might even be a simultaneous release with the Korean version in 2026 remains unclear. At least another MMORPG from Korea is confirmed to be playable in the West in 2026: MMORPG Aion 2 announces release window in the West, but one sentence is likely to cause pain for fans
