The new MMORPG Corepunk showcased an hour of new gameplay, focusing on crafting and gathering tasks. The new footage has been well received by fans and reignites hype for the upcoming game.
What kind of game is Corepunk? Corepunk adopts an isometric perspective, similar to the current Lost Ark. It immerses you in an exciting fantasy world with post-apocalyptic influences blended with cyberpunk science fiction. Graphically, it leans towards a more cartoonish style.
You can also expect a lot from the upcoming MMORPG, the first beta of which was announced for summer 2020. However, it had to be postponed multiple times, partly due to Corona and partly because the development studio behind Corepunk is based in Ukraine.
The MMORPG also offers the following features:
- 6 different classes with a total of 18 specializations
- Dungeons and raids that are compared to the highest difficulty level in WoW
- Mounts and pets
- A focus on world exploration and PvE content
- PvP
- Crafting and resource management
- The gameplay is partially inspired by League of Legends
What’s new? After over a year of silence on Corepunk’s YouTube channel, the developers shared more than an hour of new gameplay on February 14. The focus is especially on crafting and resource gathering.

If you get better, you also get worse
How does crafting work? Corepunk features a rather unusual crafting system that forces you to specialize. Generally, you can learn all professions, but you have to make a choice.
As you improve a profession, you earn efficiency points. However, these points are distributed across all possible crafting specializations. So, if you want to be a brilliant armor smith and craft the best armors, you cannot simultaneously craft the best weapons.
This means that as your efficiency in your selected profession increases, the efficiency of the profession you have not used the longest will automatically decrease.
There should be a total of 4 different professions in Corepunk. It makes sense to focus on one if you are playing with friends. Corresponding to the 4 professions, there are also 4 different resources that you can mine in the world.
What else has been announced? In addition to a deeper insight into resources and professions, the developers have also revealed what else they have been working on recently. Primarily bug fixing and optimization of existing features were mentioned. Furthermore, the backend is now supposed to be more stable and run better.
Moreover, there is still supposed to be a closed beta, but there is no new date for it yet. However, once the game goes live, it is set to receive a larger update every quarter.
