The MMORPG Swords of Legends Online is launching a harder raid, tougher dungeons, and an event centered around the moon. Thus, SOLO continues to tackle its biggest issue so far – too few endgame contents. We at MeinMMO summarize.
What happened in SOLO? Today, on September 16, the next update for the new MMORPG arrives, bringing a ton of new content mainly aimed at endgame players. But there is also something for everyone else in the new update, as the autumn or “Moon” event comes to the game.
In doing so, the MMORPG adheres to the roadmap that the team shared even before the release of the title. At the beginning, many fans complained on Reddit that SOLO would offer too few endgame contents and thus finds it hard to keep players in the long term.
This problem, however, is not going to last, as the publisher Gameforge seems to be addressing it quickly. So far, the game has already received several new raids which will become even more challenging with the update in September.
What does the Moon event bring? The event is aimed at all players of Swords of Legends. It brings new mini-games where you can test your memory and skill. Furthermore, you can send lanterns into the sky and thus participate in a special lottery.
For participating in these mini-games, you will receive event currency with which you can unlock various new items, such as:
- New emotes
- Chat emojis
- Avatars
- New filters for photo mode
- Some cosmetic items
What else does the update bring? In addition to the event, harder versions of already known content are coming to the MMORPG. Among other things, there will be an “extreme mode” of the first raid, the Jade Palace. But also harder versions of the familiar dungeons will be introduced with the update:
- Frostbitten Path
- Chou Prison
- Raging River Ruins
These particularly difficult modes will also bring better rewards and thus offer endgame players a new challenge as well as a new way to optimize their gear.
SOLO recognizes its weaknesses
What is SOLO doing right? Already in our analysis of how Swords of Legends Online is doing one month after release, one thing quickly became clear: Many players lack content and meaningful activities in the MMORPG once they reach the maximum level.
The team behind SOLO is very actively working on this weakness. Since then, new dungeons and raids have been steadily coming to the MMORPG. Since the release in July, four raids have been introduced to the game, aimed at endgame players.
Is that enough? It’s hard to say. There is definitely a potential with new content that can keep the endgame fans engaged in SOLO for a longer time. However, the player numbers of the MMORPG continue to decrease. Over the last month, the game has lost about a third of its active players on Steam again (via steamcharts.com).
Nevertheless, it quickly becomes apparent on Reddit that many fans have stopped playing but wish to return as soon as more content becomes available to them. Therefore, it is not too late for SOLO to turn things around.
Are you still playing SOLO, are you excited about the game? Do you still check back because of the event and the new content? Feel free to leave us a comment.
But not only endgame PvE fans have new plans in SOLO – the MMORPG brings innovations for every player type in 2021.
