The MMORPG Palia is being developed by former developers of WoW and LoL and is set to release for PC and Nintendo Switch later this year. Additionally, there were new updates regarding Blue Protocol and the upcoming patch for WoW. We have summarized all the news.
The highlights of the week:

- Blue Protocol has launched in Japan and has over 600,000 registered players there. We have personally tried the MMORPG there:
This week’s discussion: In WoW, there was temporarily a quest on the test server where players were supposed to help keep the dragon Alexstrasza captive. However, during her captivity, she was tortured and forced to lay eggs. This led to discussions, and ultimately Blizzard removed the quest. Rightly so?
WoW announces new patch, a new MMORPG on Steam reveals details about its classes
What happened with the major MMORPGs:
- Blizzard has announced the official release date for patch 10.1.5. In July, the new Mega-Dungeon, many class overhauls, and new daily quests will arrive, including a task involving Amber Kearnen, who was murdered during Legion. Additionally, a hotfix has slightly nerfed the currently hardest boss.
- Guild Wars 2 has announced the release of a new fractal for July 27 (via Twitter). There was also a leak about Steam that included the name for the new expansion (via MassivelyOP).
- The latest expansion Necrom for ESO has been released on PlayStation and Xbox.
- On June 24, Lost Ark introduced the latest class “Soul Eater,” which will be available in Korea on July 19 (via Twitter).
- Black Desert celebrates a total of 50 million players worldwide and is giving away two great codes for that, including 1,000 Cron stones that prevent your equipment from being destroyed.
What happened with the small MMORPGs:
- Lord of the Rings Online has introduced the new playable race of River Hobbits with the new Mariner.
- In Tibia Online, a player achieved a success that was deemed impossible for 25 years.
- Mabinogi, an older Korean MMORPG, is transitioning to Unreal Engine 5 (via YouTube).
- ArcheAge has introduced a new Daru transformation and 10v10 PvP battles (via MassivelyOP).
- Tower of Fantasy will be available on August 8 on PS5, but without crossplay with other platforms.
- Zenith, the VR MMORPG on Steam, has released a new zone with new enemies (via MassivelyOP).
What happened with MMORPGs in development:
- The creators of Lost Ark want to publish a new MMORPG focusing on freedom and massive battles.
- Bitcraft, a sandbox MMORPG, has completed its pre-alpha and revealed some details about the future in a producer letter (via Bitcraft).
- Tarisland, the “WoW clone from Tencent”, has shared new details about the mage class (via MassivelyOP).
- The sandbox MMORPG Fractured is back online, after being taken offline in winter to separate from gamigo and develop new content.
