The upcoming MMORPG Chrono Odyssey has recently amazed its fans again. The developer only shared a clip lasting 12 seconds. However, this one was particularly impressive: In detail, the Chronotector – a means of time manipulation – was showcased in a fresh gameplay sequence. The developer also explains its functionality.
What kind of clip is this? The clip probably shows real gameplay from the MMORPG Chrono Odyssey, which is set to be released on PC and consoles. Here, one witnesses a sequence demonstrating how the Chronotector actually works in the game.
Upon closer inspection, there are 2 scenes that freeze one’s heartbeat in seconds:
- When used, the enemies in the first scene appear momentarily frozen, while there are brief flashes around them, and damage is dealt at lightning speed.
- In the second scene, the time manipulation seems like a teleportation into the enemies, as well as back out to the starting point.

The developer commented on the clip itself on Twitter and revealed the functionality of the time manipulation:
Freeze monsters in time to deal damage or rewind time to return to your original position before your own attack.
The use of time manipulation seems to be quite an interesting feature for an MMORPG, especially since other players might also use the technique around their own character.
However, how this will work with common enemies or even in PvP remains to be shown by the developer. The attacks themselves resemble the action gameplay from Black Desert Online.
The time manipulation is well-received by fans of Chrono Odyssey, but raises questions
