Blade & Soul 2 starts in South Korea in May. 2 million players have registered for pre-registration, breaking a record.
What is Blade & Soul 2? The sequel to the MMORPG Blade & Soul, released in 2012 (2016 in our country), lets you step back into the role of martial arts fighters in the same Asian-inspired fantasy world. The heroes of old have now become legends, and you will find many new challenges and secrets in this world.
Part 2 aims to introduce some changes and innovations compared to its predecessor. This includes determining your combat style through weapons rather than classes. Exploring the world will also be more important, as you will unlock the story of the game zones.
The battles are intended to be action-packed yet tactical. You can switch your weapons during fights to adapt to new situations.
The demand for Blade & Soul 2 is huge
When will the game be released? In South Korea, Blade & Soul 2 launches in May. Pre-registration has already begun. The release is planned for mobile devices and through a special platform called Purple for PC. In our country, the MMORPG is set to launch in 2021. A specific date is not yet available.
What record has the game broken? In less than 18 hours after the start of the pre-registration phase for Blade & Soul 2, 2 million players in South Korea registered for the MMORPG.
In 2017, NCSoft announced that the pre-registrations for LineageM reached the 2 million mark within 18 hours (via NCSoft). This record has now been narrowly beaten by Blade & Soul 2.
Why is the MMORPG so popular in South Korea? A large e-sport scene has formed around Blade & Soul in South Korea. Tournaments and championships take place.
Blade & Soul 2 is being developed with a focus on e-sports. Therefore, the sequel could take the place of the first part and establish itself as a new e-sport contender in Korea.
However, players first need to familiarize themselves with the new mechanics. The earlier you start, the sooner you’ll be fit enough for tournaments.
Moreover, Blade & Soul 2 seems to promise a very exciting MMORPG that appeals to both PvE and PvP fans and looks great even on mobile devices thanks to Unreal Engine 4.
Fans are therefore very curious whether Part 2 can measure up to its predecessor, surpass it, and establish itself as a new e-sport game.
