What kind of MMORPG is ODIN? The new game from developer Lionheart Studio immerses you in a world that draws from Norse mythology. You will visit places like Midgard, Jotunheim, Nidavellir, and Alfheim. You will encounter elves, giants, dwarves, and mythological beasts. In the lore, well-known figures like Odin and Loki play important roles. You can choose from four classes:
- Sorceress (Dark Wizard or Archmage): Uses spells to deal high area damage to many enemies. Can cast summons and control foes.
- Warrior (Defender or Berserker): Protects allies as a tank but can also charge into the fray offensively. Comes with high survivability skills.
- Rogue (Assassin or Sniper): Deals high damage through physical attacks, especially against single targets. Can operate from a distance with a bow or in close combat.
- Priest (Saint or Paladin): Heals and supports allies, but can also take on the role of a tank or deal damage.
Here is the class trailer for ODIN:
The developers promise a vast world without loading screens, countless dungeons, as well as raid challenges and PvP battles involving two groups of 30 players each. Further features like guild wars are expected to follow at a later date.
Due to its mobile roots, ODIN is likely to offer an autoplay feature. However, this is expected to be ineffective for various activities, especially when fighting strong bosses, whose area attacks must be manually avoided.
By the way, a spinoff of ODIN called Project Q has been announced in the meantime. More information on this and ODIN’s success in its home market can be found here: German fans are eagerly waiting for a new MMORPG – This is a huge success elsewhere and earns millions
