Starkeepers is an indie MMO from developer Wolfpack Games, set to be released in 2023. It focuses on cooperative player activities and allows you to organize clans as if you were Vikings.
What kind of game is this? In Starkeepers, you create a character, turning into a beast. Then you enter a mythologically inspired fantasy world where you can decide what you want to do.
What’s special is that there are no fixed classes. You gain skills from relics and customize your abilities individually. Additionally, players seem to be able to embody different heroes to use other skills. We currently do not know how the class system works.
Build a city and defend it
Together with other players, you form a clan and build a city – your own Starkeep. You must protect it from other players. You use crafting to expand and arm it further. The gameplay is reminiscent of the MMO Tribes of Midgard, where you have to protect your village with 10 players.
The focus of Starkeepers seems to be on PvP. A clan that takes over a territory can rule over it. Players are supposed to be able to establish their own rules and hierarchies.
Furthermore, the MMO offers an action-packed combat system. You can learn many skills, perform double jumps, roll on the ground, and block attacks from your opponents.

The graphics are not necessarily the most modern and do not stand out with the most details. However, the gameplay looks much more promising.
In addition to building your fortress, you can complete quests and determine your path within the story yourself. According to the developers, the mythological story holds some surprises.
When will Starkeepers be released? The MMO is set to release in 2023 and will initially go into Early Access on Steam. The developers have not yet revealed an exact date.
