On Steam, a new survival MMO has been announced for the end of September 2023, which at least visually reminds of other well-known games in the trailer. According to the developers, various mechanics are also quite comparable to other games.
What does the trailer show? The trailer for “Kingdoms of Ereloth” showcases a medieval world and visually reminds of well-known game series such as “Gothic” or “Dragon Age”.
You can see old castle walls surrounded by chaos and corpses, or a church hall with an altar, as well as a longer dungeon corridor, in which only skeletons can be found.
Underground constructions shrouded in a mystical green light, housing an ancient throne, or a “mushroom forest” that almost looks as if you have been shrunk down, will await you in the world of Ereloth.
The trailer also shows you the sea and some sailing ships that sail it at the end. Whether these will be controllable by you in the game or not is not clear from the trailer. However, it definitely promises that in Ereloth, you can also pursue your path as a pirate.
Overall, the short trailer does not show much of the actual gameplay yet.
But you can see two combat scenes, against a large troll and another knight. In response to the user’s question SantoIago (via Youtube) about the combat system, the developers compare this to New World.
The character is seen cutting down a tree and smashing stones in the mine. In a time-lapse, you then see a stone house being built. How much you actually need to take part in the construction is not made clear.
When looking at the building mechanics, the similarity to Valheim comes into play. However, the developers emphasized in a response to the comment from ryandikisetiawan that while it is comparable to Valheim, they are trying to differentiate themselves.
