The MMO New World has presented its server list at launch. There are supposed to be 63 different servers just in Europe. However, it is not yet clear which server is intended for which language – but there will be servers at release where specifically German-speaking players will gather.
Update October 4: Amazon has now released new servers (via forums.newworld). There are also more servers with a recommendation for the German language. The list of German servers looks like this:

News from September 23:
- The new MMO New World will launch with numerous different servers. While other MMORPGs like “The Elder Scrolls Online” use a mega-server per region, New World will again have classic “small servers.”
- Now Amazon has announced the names of the servers: There will be 63 servers planned just for Europe. From A like Asgard to Z like “Zerzura,” everything is included.
- German players are currently wondering: On which server will we meet? What is the German server?
How many servers are there for the individual regions?
- For Europe, 63 servers are planned (the list shows 64 names, but Lyonesse appears twice – Amazon says on Twitter, Lyonesse just wanted the most attention (via twitter)
- NA West will get 23 servers
- NA East will get 54 servers
- Australia has to make do with 11 servers
- South America has 26 servers
What about the languages? Amazon announces that there will be “language tags” available at release, from which it will be clear: This server X is intended for German players. This will not apply to all servers, but for some. These tags are not mandatory, but only recommendations (via twitter)
During the Open Beta, 4 out of 24 servers in Europe were intended for German players. However, one could also speak English there. In the beta, these were the servers Albraca, Elysium, Antillia, and Styx. Albraca and Elysium are included in the new servers at release; Antillia and Styx are not.
At the moment, players are discussing that the list of server names is not very helpful. To arrange a meeting with friends on a server, it is important to know which language is spoken there, it is said in the forums.
As soon as it is known which servers are intended for German-speaking players, you will learn it on MeinMMO.
Is New World actually coming to PS4, PS5, or Xbox Series X? According to Amazon’s latest response, a release on consoles is currently not planned, but not ruled out for the future.
It is only said: For the foreseeable future, New World will only be playable on PC.
