Conan Exiles is a survival MMO set in the universe of Conan the Barbarian. You find yourself as a condemned outlaw in the desert, fighting for survival, with friends or alone. Along the way, you discover more of the world, enslave NPCs, and slaughter your way through dungeons.

In Conan Exiles, you play as a convicted criminal: Whether guilty or not doesn’t matter in this rather unfriendly world. You find yourself nailed to a cross in the desert, exposed to die for various crimes.
Before the vultures can feast on you, you are quickly struck down from the cross – by a guy who suspiciously resembles Conan himself. Conan the Barbarian becomes part of the story, and you should be able to encounter him on your journeys.
Whether on the cross or not: Survival will be tough. Everyone in exile wants a piece of you – whether other exiles, wild animals, or the settled tribes in various zones of the world. Step forth and claim your place in exile!
As a survival game, Conan Exiles is primarily about survival. Fight your way through various biomes, build a fortress where you can be safe from the dangers of the inhospitable world.
There are plenty of hostile creatures that you will encounter on your journeys. Whether necromancers and black magicians in the desert, frost giants and undead in the north, or serpentmen in the volcano – everyone wants to take you down. So: Better strike first, then ask.
Even the world is not friendly: Blazing heat and biting cold make your journey difficult and require appropriate clothing. The universe is unfriendly enough – gather friends around you and conquer the world together!
What does Conan Exiles hold for you?
An advanced building system: To survive, you can build castles, cities, and fortresses, and continuously search for resources that can help you. Enslave members of the settled tribes so they can work for you and protect your home.
Professions and crafting: It’s hardly possible to achieve all of this alone. Your choice of skills is limited, so it’s sensible to specialize in something. Coordinate with each other and train as warriors, blacksmiths, cooks, or armorers.
Religion: Faith is also an important part of the game. When creating your character, you can choose to join one of the currently 6 known religions. Build temples and sacrifice to your god to gain unique advantages and even summon their avatars for battle.
Reactive combat system: Whether with light armor and daggers or bows, or heavy armor and two-handed weapons: you can hardly get through the world without combat. On your journeys, you’ll repeatedly encounter enemies that you can defeat with a sophisticated combat system and special attacks for each weapon.
Invasions: Once you’ve managed to choose a spot where you want to settle permanently, you won’t find peace there either. After a while, the local population perceives you as a threat – and they attack you. The more strategically important your settlement is and how you interact with the local fauna will influence how quickly you become a target for invasions.
The wrong neighborhood: These guys aren’t knocking for a cup of flour.
Exploration: The world of Conan Exiles is vast. You start in the desert and explore the rest of the world and everything it has to offer from there. Deep cave complexes, dark temples, and sunken cities are just part of it.
The desert: Here you enter the world for the first time. An inhospitable desert full of scorpions, cannibals, and other monsters that hunt you. Take your first steps here and familiarize yourself with the game.
The swamp: A jungle-like swamp is expected to be found in the east of the map at release. Reptiles, monkeys, and insects swarm in the morass, where a ruined city and dungeons await exploration. Suitable for mid-level players.
The icy north: The largest new area so far is the icy tundra in the north of the map. At the foot of a massive mountain range, new materials for stronger armor and weapons await you – guarded by frost giants and wandering corpses that seek your life. Designed for high-level players.
The volcano: The last known area for now is the enormous volcano, where a race of serpentmen resides. This is where the endgame will take place, as the only forge in the game, where the strongest material can be forged, is located in the volcano: obsidian.
I haven’t played Conan Exiles since the EA release – what’s new?
Since January 2017, when the game was first playable, a lot has changed. The developers have steadily delivered new content while improving and expanding old systems.
The combat system has been significantly improved

Is Conan Exiles for me?
Conan Exiles is a very brutal game and definitely appeals to an adult audience. From the brutality of the fights, where body parts often fly around, to gruesome details in the cannibal camps, to explicit nudity and the ability to adjust your penis size, one should not have a weak stomach.
The game itself also requires strong nerves. Even if you only stay in PvE and avoid contact with hostile players, the world is not friendly to you. You will be greeted everywhere only with sword and claws – so you should respond accordingly.
The game is especially meaningful for groups and team players. If you only want to look around the world alone, you will quickly reach your limits and will only progress slowly. If you can gather friends around you, face the dangers, and don’t take offensive things too seriously, nothing will stand in the way of your gaming enjoyment.
