Actually, Atlas was supposed to be released in Early Access on Thursday. However, the developers at Wildcard now announce that the launch is delayed by another six days. It is now planned for December 19.
Why is the release delayed? There was an official statement from the studio on Steam regarding the postponement. They apologized for the delay, as they know many players are curious about the huge game world.
The developers want to thoroughly review all aspects of the MMO after the official statements before letting players loose in the world.

Criticism of the postponement: There is already a lot of criticism from players under the Steam post. The announcement of a soon start for Atlas had many people excited. They now fear similar issues as with ARK: Survival Evolved. There have been ongoing discussions about performance.
Other actions like the introduction of microtransactions after the fact or game bugs that were not addressed for a long time are still on the community’s mind.
In contrast, there is a recent statement from Jesse Rapczak, co-founder of Studio Wildcard. He promises revised technology and thus more stability for Atlas.

What is Atlas? Atlas is a new pirate MMO that aims to let 40,000 players compete against each other in a world. Players can build their own ships to conquer countries and battle other players.
There are plans for both PvP and PvE servers so that all players can enjoy Atlas. A special feature is the aging process of our character, which we should not get too accustomed to.
