The new survival MMO Dune: Awakening has officially launched. At release, it breaks its own record from the early access phase and climbs into the top 10 on Steam.
How did Dune’s headstart go? The survival MMO by Funcom was already available in headstart on Steam since Thursday, as long as you purchased the deluxe or ultimate edition. Here, the survival MMO set a record on Sunday with 117,087 concurrent players (via SteamDB).
Since Tuesday, June 10 at 16:00, players of the standard game version can also access the servers of the survival game. This moment was also the official release, which the developers have accompanied with a new trailer.

Record broken, into the top 10
What do the player numbers look like now? With the full release of the survival MMO on Steam, its own record was already broken after 2.5 hours. At 19:00, SteamDB reported a new player record with 122,536 concurrent gamers in the game.
Also in the top 10 on Steam for currently active users, the survival hit is now ranked 8th. There, the game recently displaced the tools “Source SDK Base 2007” and “Wallpaper Engine”, which now occupy spots 9 and 10 with nearly 100,000 players.
In front of Dune: Awakening is currently the genre competitor Rust in 7th place, which with over 136,000 players as of 18:30 still has some distance. In 1st place is – as so often – the Steam hit Counter-Strike 2.
