The MMORPG Past Fate takes place in the Middle Ages and offers you a lot of freedom. The Early Access on Steam is supposed to be released in August. Now the developers show the first 15 minutes of the game.
In the video, you see a character in ragged clothing with a shield on his back and a sword in his hand. He wanders through a grassy landscape with trees and a few medieval houses.
It shows the first quests, for which the character often runs to the workbench to craft items. In between, you see him chopping wood or fighting monsters that stand around in the world and attack him directly.
Also interesting is that the video shows no map: Neither a mini-map nor a large map. For orientation, there is only a compass at the top of the screen indicating which direction the quest objective is located.

You can do whatever you want in Past Fate
What kind of game is this anyway? Past Fate is an MMORPG set in a medieval fantasy setting. You create your character and begin exploring the open world.
In PvE, the MMORPG offers you dungeons and raids that you complete together with other players. Those who play on a PvP server can participate in battles. For example, you have to defend your ship in a naval battle or ensure that your fortress isn’t captured.
In May 2022, Past Fate showed first gameplay from the alpha. For a minute, snippets of the gameplay were visible. The first life skills were shown as well as some combat scenes against larger monsters, as is the case in the new gameplay video.
What other content is there?
- 5 different classes: Warrior, Necromancer, Mage, Pirate, Priest
- You can sail and explore new islands, like in Lost Ark
- A story where you uncover secrets and solve puzzles
- Your own kingdom is essentially the housing
- Day and night mode with different conditions. Dark mages, for example, have an advantage at night
- Life skills such as fishing, mining, chopping wood, and cooking
- Lots of crafting
- Starting from level 10, a new dungeon is added every 5 levels
- In the endgame, you can expect raids for 25 players. Some of the raids are said to be very difficult and are supposedly only feasible for well-coordinated guilds
The MMORPG does not force you to do anything, so you can choose the content according to your personal preferences. The player experience is therefore different from player to player.
When is Past Fate coming out? From August 15, 2022, you can purchase and play the open alpha of the MMORPG on Steam. The developers point out that it will probably have many bugs at the beginning.
The soon-to-be-released version on Steam is initially the early access. Past Fate will be Buy2Play, and we currently do not know the exact price.
