Anvil Empires is an upcoming MMORPG on Steam from developer SiegeCamp. They are also responsible for the shooter Foxhole and share many similarities, which is why the medieval MMORPG attracts its fans.
With Foxhole, SiegeCamp achieved success on Steam. The shooter places you as a soldier in a fictional world where a war has broken out, inspired by World War II. You become part of an army and take part in large battles.
Anvil Empires uses a similar principle, but is set in the medieval period. Users in the YouTube comments refer to it as “medieval Foxhole.”
Build your own town that you manage
What kind of game is this? Anvil Empires is not a shooter like Foxhole, but an MMORPG. You play in a medieval world where a war is taking place, and you are part of it. You play on PC via Steam.
Players build their own settlement, which gradually grows into a town. Similar to the strategy classic Age of Empires. There, you prepare for upcoming battles by crafting weapons and growing food.

- You travel on horseback on land but can also sail on ships at sea.
- Players are encouraged to cooperate economically and establish supply depots and logistics chains. The economy will depend entirely on the players.
