For the traditional multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a new map is still to come in Season 3. And it could be released as early as tomorrow.
What is the new map about? Numerous contents of Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, the in-house battle royale mode, have already been released.
However, there is still some new content to come. This includes a new map for the traditional multiplayer. But when will it come?
This is the new map for Season 3: The new map is called Hardhat and originates from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
This is a construction site with several asymmetric lanes, elevation differences, and numerous scattered cover options.
The map is relatively small and offers close-quarters combat in some corners, but also numerous opportunities to catch enemies at long distances or surprise them from above.
Exactly that made it popular among many. The map classic is therefore considered one of the great fan favorites from MW3.
By the way, following Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, it seems that a remake of CoD: MW3 is also in the works.
When is Hardhat supposed to come? This is a question many fans are asking now. One of them couldn’t wait and recently asked Joe Cecot, the co-design director for multiplayer, about the status of Hardhat.
And Cecot responded. The new classic map is expected to be part of the mid-season update.
Although he did not provide a specific date, he at least narrowed down the timeframe. This gives a good idea of when the map could be released.
Season 3 started on April 8 and is expected to run until early June. A mid-season update should therefore come very soon, likely already this week. May 12 is being considered the most likely date for this. This is because the biggest updates and patches for Modern Warfare and Warzone always appear on Tuesdays.
UPDATE May 12: Infinity Ward has now officially announced its plans for this week – the map is apparently not included this week. It is very likely though that it will appear in the following week.
What other contents can we expect in the rest of Season 3? Even though Season 3 is now halfway through, it still has a lot to offer. In addition to the returning classic Hardhat, a completely new multiplayer map is supposed to come, and a new map for the Gunfight mode is also expected.
