In Pokémon GO there will soon be a new loading screen. With a new update, the screen will be integrated into the game and some players see a hint of a new water event on the screen.
What kind of loading screen is this? This loading screen was already partially shown at the GO Fest in Chicago. Now the entire image is visible. The loading screen will come with the update 0.147.0, which is currently being rolled out.

The new loading screen and what it could mean
What does the image look like? Visible are water Pokémon that are moving in and around the water. You can also recognize all 3 Pokémon of the Lake Trio and surprisingly also Kaumalat, which is of the types Ground and Dragon.
What is behind the loading screen? From the last loading screens, it is known that Niantic always teases something with them. The shown Pokémon will thus play a role in the near future.
It was the same last time with Farbeagle and the current loading screen. It was introduced to the game when Farbeagle was also released.
What players suspect now: Since most of the Pokémon are of the Water type, a new water event could take place soon, say players on Reddit. After all, there was also a water festival in June 2018, which brought Shiny Kyogre and Shiny Muschas back then.
As Raid bosses, Vesprit, Tobutz, and Selfe could return this time. After all, they live in the console games at 3 different lakes. It would fit the water theme.
In the image, one can also recognize Corasonn, which is a regional Pokémon. Some trainers see a connection with the Ultra Bonus at the end of summer. It would make sense if one could get Corasonn from 7 km eggs there, just as it was last year with Tauros, Kangama, and Porenta.
What else does the update bring? Apart from the loading screen, dataminers have also already found new warning messages that can be shown in the game. Currently, data mining is still ongoing.

When will we know more about the water event? The update is still being rolled out. This usually takes a few days. However, we are likely to hear a lot of new information after the weekend.
On Tuesday, the candy event ends, which the trainers have unlocked thanks to the global challenge. Afterwards, nothing is planned, so a water event could very well start.
