Another leak has emerged, mentioning Diablo 4. The shown page of the art book also discusses one of the villains you will encounter in the game. This is Lilith.
What was leaked? Just days before the start of BlizzCon 2019, leaks about upcoming games from the studio are increasing. This includes the “Diablo IV” that has not yet been officially announced. The new leak is said to stem from an art book that Blizzard will sell only at BlizzCon. This book also contained the leak about Diablo 4. This time, an alleged page of this book is being presented.
The return of the character Lilith is shown. According to PCGamer, Lilith was first seen in Diablo 2’s Pandemonium event. It is still unclear what role she will play in the upcoming ARPG. The text states:
“Lilith’s debut in Diablo IV is a reimagining of her form, which significantly differs from her previous appearance.” There are additional lines regarding the character’s introduction and a concept art.
In the introduction of the art book, it states: “Their new design is, according to Art Director John Mueller, a great example of ‘plussing’. This is a collaborative process where an artist takes another’s concept, affirms what they like about it, and then tries to add more cool new ideas from them.”
Why could she be a villain? Lilith receives a significant introduction in the art book and is introduced in the text as “Mother of Sanctuary” (the setting of Diablo). It is also noted that she has been languishing in the abyss but will now return. “It will be a great and terrible day for everyone.”
These descriptions and the concept art could suggest that Lilith will play an important villainous role in the new Diablo IV.
On the other hand, it is unclear how much attention other characters will receive in the upcoming art book of Diablo. It is also possible that Lilith will just be one of many bosses in the new game.
When will there be more information? At the latest during BlizzCon 2019, there will be further information about the future of Diablo. Then we will find out whether this leak is actually real.
