The Trickster in Dead by Daylight became a fan favorite in no time. Many are already looking forward to being ‘really hung up’ by him.
The Dead by Daylight community is quite a mixed bunch. While two factions might tear each other apart over the new interface one day, the new killer “The Trickster” divides players into two new camps.
Some believe that the colorful K-Pop look doesn’t fit into a horror game. Others feel that the Trickster would be great at really butchering them, because he is just too hot.
What is the Trickster? The Trickster is the latest killer in Dead by Daylight and so far only playable on the PTR. Unlike many other horror figures in the game, he still has a completely human, nearly flawless body, which he also enjoys showing off. He wears a bright yellow jacket, but the good man doesn’t need a top.
The Trickster is a K-Pop artist with a rather dark backstory. He murdered some of his fans, recorded their screams, and incorporated them into his music. We have explained more about his story here.
Trickster became a sex symbol: Within hours, forums, Twitter, and the “Dead by Daylight” subreddit were flooded with memes and fanart. After the first concerned reactions like “Oh no, he’s hot,” the first images and memes surfaced. Some of them you can see here on the page.

This is also encouraged by the depiction of the Trickster in the game. During the “waiting animation” in the lobby, all killers make various gestures and expressions. Usually, weapons are checked or they look around searchingly. The Trickster also looks around, but consciously focuses on the player. He turns towards the camera and gives the player a smirking wink – as if he knows exactly that he is the worshipped star of the show.
Some players apparently wish that the Trickster would catch them in a chase and then take them not to a meat hook, but to the nearest hotel.
Weeks before the release, the Trickster has already become a sex symbol in Dead by Daylight.
DbD players are peculiar: Anyone who finds it totally strange to stylize a crazy killer into a sex symbol should also know that this has a tradition in the Dead by Daylight community.
What started as a little joke years ago has now become widespread in the community and is mostly seen with a wink. There have been fans’ wishes for years to finally have a “shirtless Myers” as a skin for Michael Myers.
Now that finally a killer comes into the game without a proper top, it creates positive and amused vibes among these fans.
Finally, it should be said that the memes and images shown here are still relatively tame. If you take a quick look into the “DbDGoneWild” subreddit, you might be surprised at how much explicit fan art can be created in just one day. But visiting the site is at your own personal risk…
