With the new addon Endwalker, Final Fantasy XIV receives two new jobs. One of them is the melee fighter Reaper.
This is the new job: In FFXIV, Reapers draw their power from the Void, the 13th shard of Hydaelyn. They wield a scythe in battle and can even summon a non-ascendant to assist them in combat.
The Reaper attacks with quick strikes from their scythe and is a melee job. They wear armor with the affix “of the Maiming” and will share it with the Dragoon starting from Endwalker.
The new job actually comes from the antagonist Zenos yae Galvus, who will also wield a scythe in the new addon Endwalker. The exact mechanics behind the job are still unknown, but you can check it out in action:
When will Reaper be playable? The new job will debut with the addon Endwalker on November 23. However, pre-orders will allow players to access it starting November 19.
How do I unlock the Reaper? The requirements to unlock the Reaper are owning the addon Endwalker and having at least one combat job at level 70. The Reaper will also start at level 70.
The starting quest for the Reaper is located in Ul’dah. Its name is still unknown.
That’s why it looks like Bloodborne: The new job is definitely among the darker ones in FFXIV, alongside the Dark Knight. Accordingly, the appearance of the Reaper features a dark color scheme and a tattered look.
It heavily resembles the outfit of the Hunters from the action game Bloodborne. The cloak is dark and tattered, the hat obscures the face, and the job wields a scythe that is also available as a weapon in Bloodborne.
The Burial Blade is a special weapon used by a significant character in Bloodborne, and players can also acquire it if they are skilled enough.
