The manga Kagurabachi has become the target of many memes upon its release. The hype spiraled out of control and led the story to attract the attention of many anime fans. Now the manga is truly successful and sells more often than the publisher probably expected.
How successful is the manga now? Kagurabachi is published by Shueisha, which also publishes other well-known mangas like One Piece and Boruto. The manga is now so successful that the first volume is getting a third edition. For a completely new manga, this is a great success.

What is Kagurabachi about? The first chapter of the manga by Takeru Hokazono was published on September 19, 2023. At the center of the story is swordsman Chihiro Rokuhira:
- He is the son of famous swordsmith Kunishige Rokuhira and dreams of one day following in his father’s footsteps.
- The swordsmith is murdered one day, and Chihiro becomes a swordsman to avenge his father.
- With his enchanted sword, he now faces a group of wizards who have stolen six swords from the forge.
At present, there are 27 chapters being released weekly. If you’re interested in the story, now would be a good time to start reading. So far, there aren’t that many chapters you would need to catch up on.
Why has the manga become a cult meme? In the anime community, Kagurabachi long regarded as a joke. An avalanche of memes was created about the manga, viewing the story as the successor to the “Big 3.” These are the most successful 2000s mangas from the shonen genre: One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach.
But this attention helped the manga gain new readers. At that time, only the first chapter was available to read. Therefore, fans had to wait to see how the story would continue. Apparently, the story developed in such an exciting way that the manga is now becoming a sales hit.
